Intel Neuromorphic Hardware

Last updated: Sep 9, 2012

Proposal For Neuromorphic Hardware Using Spin Devices - a paper published by Intel in June 2012. Involves the combined use of spintronics and memristors. The idea is a cross-bar switch lattice where lateral spin valves (LSVs) act as neurons and memristors act as synapses. The devices haven't been built yet but have been simulated on powerful conventional computers. See the research paper, and an article by Technology Review.
